Painted on Gadigal Country

Medium: Aerosol.

I worked with Lendlease in September this year to design and paint a mural in the Barangaroo workspace in collaboration with the Aboriginal staff.

I facilitated a workshop with Lendlease Aboriginal Staff with guest Gadigal Leader Paul Newman. I led the participants to a spot in Barangaroo Reserve where we did an active Acknowledgment of Country looking and listening to the landscape. While sitting by the water, the participants drew the things they connected to in the landscape.

Water was the most prevalent connection for everyone there, along with sandstone, trees, sun, sky and clouds. When speaking about what they would like to see within the mural, we decided the mural will represent a welcoming visual for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders onsite and non-First Nations staff and visitors so they can all celebrate in the rich culture of this land.
